I had high hopes for this book, it had promise in the beginning but fell fast. This book is poorly written, there are grammar errors, odd sentences that don't make sense. At times it felt like this was written by a sixteen year old girl. It's highly unbelievable!! First of all the land IS NOT Clara's, it's the university and she can't stop the sale of it and for everyone to say she has to sign the papers for the sale is ridiculous! The university owns it not her, she's only a department head. Secondly Clara wanting to have a baby by anyone, she just wants a baby, but then all of sudden she wants a baby by Luca but saying she doesn't need a husband or a father for her baby she can do it on her own, then saying she doesn't know if she still wants a baby because she wants a family....what?! Then there's the part where Harry is going to Clara to tell her what he learn about Dr. Scott and Cornelius and the oil found on the land, he gets shot running to her and as he's dying in her arms instead of tell her about Dr. Scott and the oil, Harry says I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow...wth!??! Then there's the scene in Cornelius's apartment where he tells Clara he's always wanted her and he wants her to divorce Luca and marry him. The only thing that is pretty good in this book is the sex scenes, some are hot. This book really needs a good editor!!Product details

I had a hard time finding the plot and characters of this book believable. The H, Luca is a mafia man and our h is a marine biology professor. They have nothing in common except sexual chemistry, and boy, do they explore that often! The plot seemed to serve as fill in for the sex scenes, and it was not a plausible one at that. I give the author credit for allowing the H some emotional growth and change, which bumped this up from 2 stars to 2 1/2 stars. I don't believe that I will be reading about the other brothers, because I don't care.

The Tycoon's Baby Billionaire Obsession is a fairly short read, a perfect choice for those with limited time for reading. This quick read is a steamy read, so if you don't like your pages curling, this might not be the book for you. The Tycoon's Baby is well written. Clara and Luca's story is full of suspense, action, sizzle and humor. I loved Harry! I enjoyed The Tycoon's Baby and will happily read more from Julie Farrell in the future. The Tycoon's Baby is book 1 in the Tycoon Romance Series, but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger....but she does throw a little hook out for the next book in the series.
The story of Clara who you may remember from the Billionaire Quinlan family series and how she becomes intertwined with Luca Romano. Luca is a member of the rich, powerful and mafia-linked Romano's. This is the first book in Julie's new Tycoon series and it certainly starts the series off with a bang.
Clara, a research biologist who is studying life saving drugs is a strong personality who wants a baby without the emotional attachment of a baby daddy. Enter Luca and things get interesting. Lots of suspense, murder, mystery, egos, steamy sex and even a little love. Lots of chemistry between the main characters. You will enjoy this book.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. First, let me say that it was a good book overall I just expected more after reading several other books by Julie Farell.
I like the story line but a lot was missing from the story and was disconnected. There was nothing to lead the reader as to understand why things happened such as why Clara let herself be a pushover to the men around her. She was ok with letting her professional reputation be put into question and have her scientific work be credited by someone else. Any modern, professional woman would never allow that!
As far as the relationship between Luca and Clara it was ok. Yes lots of intense and intimate scenes but not enough storyline of them getting to know each other. It also didn't make sense how Luca was ok with Clara trying to get pregnant without his knowledge. I would have liked to have had a better idea of them together, it was just ok.

This book was a struggle for me to get through. This book seemed as thought
it was written by someone whose first language isn't English. For this reason, I
can't complain about the grammatical errors.
The storyline started off strong and quickly turned strange. Murder and Mayhem,
Fighting and Threats, Mob Mentality and College Presidents, it just all seemed
unbelievable to me.
There were a couple of good parts of the book. I loved Harry's character. He seemed
like a lot of fun and the kind of friend that everyone needs. Then there was the chemistry
between Lucas and Clara. That seemed really hot and lasted throughout the book.
This book captivated me from the start. Here's a little review of why ? Hate is a very strong emotion, but when I first met Luca I did hate him . He was cocky, confident, and better looking than any man I'd met before. I wanted his babies. But I could tell right away he was trouble , and I didn't need trouble in my life. Things were complicated enough as it was. I was sitting alone at the bar when he strutted inside as if he owned the place, as if he owned the world. It was getting late and my assistant had just rushed outside to take an urgent call , but my attention was consumed by this tall muscular stranger . I watched his reflection in the mirror behind the bar , feeling annoyed at the effect he had on me. I felt like a gazelle in the presence of a lion. He sizzled with confidence .
